What is the project about? jWBTC is a token on the TON blockchain transferred from Ethereum via bridge.ton.org and representing Wrapped Bitcoin. Each jWBTC is backed 1:1 with Wrapped Bitcoin. jWBTC allows for Bitcoin transfers to be conducted quicker on the TON blockchain and opens up the possibility for BTC to be used in the TON ecosystem. The idea behind jWBTC is to bring the liquidity and functionality of Bitcoin to the TON ecosystem, where it can be used in decentralized applications (DApps), smart contracts, and other TON-based platforms. TON is a decentralized, ultra-stable, and user-friendly next-generation blockchain with low transaction fees initially built by Telegram to onboard billions of users.
